Day 1 at Wimbledon

Andy Roddick blogs for EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis from Wimbledon, giving us an insiders view on the greatest tennis tournament.

"I always enjoy the build up to Wimbledon and this year’s been no different.

I’m staying in a house in Wimbledon along with my wife, agent and coaches and it’s nice to have a base to relax and do normal everyday things like cook your own food and go to the supermarket.

I think it’s important to maintain the same routine for every tournament and that’s what I’ve tried to do over here. The slight ankle injury I picked up at Queen’s has cleared up well so I’ve managed to stick to my usual regime of hitting a few balls every day and relaxing as much as possible.

Tomorrow brings my first round and I can’t wait to get out there and start competing. I’ve been drawn against Jeremy Chardy who, for those of you who don’t know, is a very talented young French player and I’ll need to be on the top of my game from the very start to make the second round.
